about

Frenquency's and Nangdo's collab Ep - FLEXXIN' brings a warm synthetic, thick halftime and Juke rhythms vibe!

When Frenquency and Nangdo spent a week in Nangdo's studio in Berlin, the good and sunny spring vibes inspired their musical collaboration. FLEXXIN’ brings out warm synthetic, thick half-time and Juke rhythms and some chopped R&B vox styles: Both the tunes, FLEXXIN' & Let Go have moments that will hype you up to dance as well as more chilled parts that give you a second to catch your breath. These joints are a perfect confluence of both their signature sounds and love for Hip-Hop & 160 bpm flavor.

Both the tracks in the EP are a mix of influences of (Leftfield) Bass, Hiphop, Halftime, Juke, Footwork, Jersey Club and Ghettohouse. Crafted with subs, warm pads and some pretty, dreamy synths from Nangdo’s collection were used too for the production, as well as his Maschine device.

FLEXXIN' symbolises the moment when you feel like your true self is revealed to yourself as you’re vibing in a club or at a festival or in the spring sun. It’s the feeling of being content with yourself and shining aka "FLEXXIN'"

Let Go is a tune to let yourself go to, let go of the bad vibes and let in the good vibes. A feel good tune that gives you energy and has that perfect mix of futuristic waves of R&B with its female vocals, mixed with hints of Juke and Jersey Club on a warm bed of sunny and warm melodies.

Frenquency was already intrigued by all kinds of music when he was merely four years old. Nowadays that sparkling interest has manifested itself into him producing different electronic sounds and music, for inside the club and outside it as well. In July 2019, Frenquency released his ‘My World’ EP on LA based Black Marble Collective. In the last couple of years he released several EP’s: ‘Starfunk EP’ (2017) on Black Marble Collective, the ‘Greyscale EP’ (2015) on Hamburg based label Saturate Records and three EP’s on Amsterdam based Basserk Records. Besides EP’s he dropped a bunch of tracks, bootlegs and remixes on several labels worldwide. Since the inception of the label, Frenquency has alread dropped two ep’s on 4NC¥, “Good As Gold” and Terminator”.

About Nangdo
Nangdo is a producer from The Netherlands who is now Berlin based with over 20 years of sound production under his belt. Heavily influenced by artists like Jay Dilla, Pete Rock and Madlib among others, he started making waves with a beat tape in 2009 which led to a release on the Soulection label by the name of "Bootyleg EP".

Over the following years, Nangdo continued producing and playing shows including his own creation, a regular Footwork party by the name of "Strictly 160" in which he hosted a variety of local and international artists and managed to book some of the most influential artists of the genre using his recognition from the international footwork community.

Nangdos has continued to produce music and is excited to release the up and coming FLEXXIN with the talented Frenquency but has said in no uncertain terms that this is just the tip of the iceberg, he is sitting on a stockpile of unreleased music and is looking forward to many new releases in the year of 2021.
